So Many Meetings!

So Many Meetings!

All right, Friends, this week we have had a lot MORE meetings.  We are working on gathering medical supplies, meeting with individuals and churches for funding for said medical supplies, the container and shipping that it will take to get them to us in in Gembu, Nigeria.  We have been meeting with supporters working on the Days For Girls items and New Baby Kits for our soon to be hospital and then there are the “bananas”.

You see, after eating, breathing, speaking about serious issues and going from one place to another over the past months I find I am taking myself pretty seriously.  It is fun, fulfilling, and we are so passionate about what we are doing, but really, people, this is serious stuff !

Today I have a couple of hours while Dan has some meetings without me and this is the office I am sitting in.   REALLY, I kid you not!  I am sitting here looking at this and HOW can you take yourself seriously?

Who created fun, laughter, love, and families?  My Boss, that’s who!2015-02-27 10.07.36

My point for today is this:  Do not let the serious nature that life is steal your joy.

We serve a God bigger than that!  He created us with our passions, loves, and skills.

If we can’t have joy in that, what about those that don’t know the Master of Joy?

A week in the life of…..

A week in the life of…..

This week we have been working on preparing to go back to Nigeria.  Working on getting medical equipment, working on a container, preparing our Days for Girls things that we need to prep before we go back as well as a couple of meetings in the Pine River MN area.

This week it has occurred to me how many more people are fully engaged in my life now.  People gathering things for us to take back to Nigeria, people funding so many different aspects of ministry, people loving on us and encouraging us in so many ways!  God has truly blessed Dan and I as we have ventured out, following God’s plan for us.  We love talking about Nigeria, and are looking forward to getting back there to implement the things we have been working on.

My point for today is this:  When you go where God leads, that’s where the party’s at! (taken from one of my favorite songs).

All you need is love?

All you need is love?

This week we are reminded of “love”, with Valentine’s Day being tomorrow.  I have had some pretty wacky thoughts about love this week and I’d like to share them with you.  We are at Dan’s parents’ house in Texas.  We have gone over to Mexico twice this past week as Dan’s mom had dentist appointments there.  I hate to admit it, but while we were over in Mexico, I was ashamed to be an American!  What I saw this week appalled me and I was so saddened!  I saw an elderly man, with a beer in one hand, trip over a beggar woman and cuss her out!  Then I saw others being openly rude to the people whose country we were in!

Did Jesus command us to love those who were lovely?  Did He command us to love our spouses, children, and friends only.  No he commanded us to take care of the orphans and the widows, to share a cup of water with one who is thirsty.  Did he command us to act like arrogant jerks to those “less worthy”?  I think not!

This Valentine’s Day I want to remind you that our Jesus, lover of our souls, wants US to show HIS love to everyone that He has created.  This means the homeless, the down-trodden, the drug addict, and the sick and hurting.

My point for today is this:  We are called to show everyone His love, not just those WE love this Valentine’s Day and throughout the year.  How are you doing with that?  Ask Him to give you His eyes to see the lost and treat them as He would.
